Alleged Next-Gen iPhone Back Case Leaks. Multiple Colors, Aluminum, Smaller Dock Connector And More.

As WWDC nears, anticipation of iOS 6 and the next-gen iPhone hardware
is heating up. And after an earlier leak claiming to show off parts of
the new in-hosue Apple Maps app were leaked by BGR, it is 9to5 Mac’s
follow-up post that has tickled our fancy even more, showing what
could be the next-gen iPhone’s back casing. In the image you can see
the thinner dock connector and bigger speaker/mic cutouts which 9to5
says will cater to the next-gen iPhone’s better quality speaker. Also,
the headphone jack appears to have been relocated from the top of the
device to the bottom. 9to5’s source, iFixyouri, says the middle
section of the back piece is standard aluminum — not liquid metal.
iFixyouri’s supplier source further divulged that black and white
won’t be the only colors the casing comes in, signaling the first time
in the iPhone’s history that true color comes to the iPhone family.

According to iFixyouri and 9to5Mac, the supplier of the part is
reliable (correctly leaked info/parts pertaining to the white iPad
before it was made public).

While such parts come and go, not to mention an entire industry
outside of Apple lives on knock-off/fake iPhone parts, we’re eagerly
awaiting more info on the parts above. As such, take the image/part
above with a grain of salt. It’s very possible that it is 1) a part
from a prototype device that won’t ever see public release or 2) a
fake part.
